The Henrietta Tx calling contest will be February 16th 2013. This is a daylight to midnight hunt. You must check in at Airco Plumbing and Sheet Metal 916 Omega in Henrietta Tx by 10:00 AM on Sunday the 17th. No tolerance on time.4 man per team max. Sign up will be at Airco Plumbing and Sheet Metal at 916 East Omega Street in Henrietta Tx from 7:00 PM till 9:00 Pm om Friday the 15th. rules will be read and questions answered at this time. You can mail your entry in if you can not come to the Friday sign up. Mail in feees must be in by Friday February 15th.(cashiers checks or money orders only on Mail ins). I will need a list of team members and phone numbers so I can call and go over the rules on the mail ins. Entry fees are $50.00 per person.
There will be a Savage 22-250 rifle given away at the check in Sunday Morning to one lucky person by way of a drawing. Any hunter that paid entry fee and shows up at the weigh in will be eligible.
There will be polgraphs given to the winners.

Henrietta Calling Contest


1. Only 10 animals will be counted for points with a 5 bobcat limit.
2. You may hunt any where in the state of Texas or Oklahoma on private land that you have permission to hunt, or state land where varmint hunting is legal.
3. This is a calling contest. All animals must be called. A called animal is: after you come to a complete stop and then start calling, if you see an animal and make a call loud enough that he can here it and it acknowledges the call then it is a called animal.
4. You may not bait or put out anything or have someone else put out anything for drawing in bobcats and coyotes. If an animal dies on its own and no one moves it you may call by it.
5. When hunting out of a vehicle you must come to a complete stop, make a call, and the animal must acknowledge the call before you can shoot any animal. No hunting out of b
6. All state hunting laws must be observed oats or aircraft. Teams must use or hunt out of only one vehicle. Only hunting contestants are allowing in the vehicle while hunting. Four wheelers are allowed. You may leave a back-up vehicle at the gate.
7. No hunting on public roads. (Dirt or paved).
8. All animals must be shot from land you have permission to hunt on.
9. No pooling of animals, only animals shot by team members during tournament will count.
10. You may not add weight to your animals. You can not shoot an animal in a live trap. You may not turn an animal out of a live trap and shoot it. You can not pick up road kill.
11. Team members may split up however they like but must have only one base vehicle to hunt out of.
12. People under 18 must have parent’s written permission to hunt and to take the polygraph test.
13. Anyone winning money will be required to take the polygraph test. All team members must be present at the weigh in, and all team members must be able to take the polygraph test. If a team member does not make the check in time then the team is disqualified. If a team member is drawn to take the polygraph test and refuses or says he is not medically able, then the team is disqualified.
14. You can not fly to and from where you are going to hunt..

Yes thought I better get it done. It will be here before you know it. I will be at the Championship hunt in Archer City with some flyers also.

Guys, BJ puts on a great hunt. I like the daylight to midnight as a change from all of the others. I sure felt better after this hunt last year than I usually do after the others that are 24 hours.

Yes weather looks like it is going to be great this weekend. Mail ins are showing up and I have answered alot of phone calls about the hunt. remember sign up is Friday.

Bobcat-50 points
Mountain lion-250 points.

Remember there is a 5 bobcat limit.(no more than 5 bobcats can be counted at check in)Best score will be 5 bobcat and 5 coyotes. Second best is 4 bobcat and 6 coyotes and so on.

Thank you. Hopefully we do well enough to drive to weigh in on Sunday. Looking forward to my first varmint hunt that isn't 12 to 12.

I have got alot of good feed back on the time frame of this hunt. It makes it easier on older hunters like myself. It better for hunters who have to travel a ways to get here also. can get some rest then come to check in.

We had 34 teams sign up
1st place paid $1750.00 to Kyle Johnson, Randy Bell and Riley Sizemore.
2nd place paid $1050.00 to Johnny Owen and Jason Owen.
3rd place paid $700.00 to Marvin Henry, Beau Reneau and Kenneth Campbell.
Big cat paid $300.00 to Melton Demoss, Trey Armstrong and Cody Likins.
Big coyote paid $300.00 also to Melton Demoss, Trey Armstrong and Cody Likins.
Cat weighed 23.8 and the coyote weighed 36.8.
Thanks to eveeryone who came to hunt. We will do it again next year.
