homemade E-caller sequences

BigMan has me wanting to build a homemade e-caller. there are calls that can be downloaded to a mp3 to replay and even 16 and 20 minute sequences. having never coyote or bobcat hunted, would it be better to play single sounds and wait or let the sequence that also has pauses in it play?
