Quail Report Jayton - 10/02/16 09:45 PM
Went out this weekend to survey new quail lease. Counted over 50 covey and we only went threw half of the property. I think my dog is going to be in heaven. I have not seen it like this in 10 years.

Since my lease is east of Jayton, that's good to hear

I have some land at Girard. The quail will be unreal.
Jumped numerous coveys that had 15+ birds in them. Most were too big to count and saw several still on the ground. Should be good hunting this year!

And I am south of Jayton and I am covered up with birds. It is almost scary. I have been doing this a long time and I can't remember a potential season like this one. We were just riding the two-tracks around the lease recently and never got off the road and flushed at least 20 coveys of birds in 1.5 hours.

I will be hunting Kent co, Tom Green Co, and Reagan Co. mostly this year. I have been to all three places a lot this summer and early fall. I can honestly say one is probably not better than the other and all 3 areas are loaded.

My place in Aspermont is covered up in them too. I think the whole area will be blessed with a lot of birds this year.

If you have not had the pleasure yet to be out in the pasture as the sun rises and be able to listen you are missing out this year. Here is a video I took this morning and couldn't believe all the calling. This is in Kent co and I hope y'all can hear it.

Going to be a great year for quail hunting. I had no idea so many people on here were my hunting neighbors.
