Seriously Dumb Question

Seriously Dumb Question - 09/10/23 11:43 PM

I am going teal hunting this coming weekend, its a group of us that get together and go annually. This year I went to Wal-Mart in Lancaster to get my hunting license (I know, I know).
Young feller who helped me, pulled up my last years info and printed out my license, pretty much without issue. Which was nice as it was his first time to ever do it on his own.
Now, I normally just go to the post office and get my duck stamp, but my license under endorsements says federal Duck stamp QTY 1, expires 10/17/2023. Does this mean I am good to hunt or do I still have to go to the Post office, or are they going to mail me one like my sandhill crane permit? What if it doesn't come before Friday?.......I hate change.......and technology realmad

You're good to go, they will mail you a stamp. Is anyone doing digital?

The senate passed the Duck Stamp Modernization Act of 2023 on July 31 this year, but the house hasn't voted on it yet. I confirmed with our local game warden that you still have to have the signed stamp on you. Even if going digital. But it's coming. I can't see buying a license in a store. Do it all through the Outdoor Annual app on your phone. It's a lot easier and most folks at places like walmart do not know what you need.

I just got the federal stamp Saturday in my mail. I got my lic on the 23rd.

I miss being able to go to any post office and buying it there.

Sandhill crane permit? this is covered by the migratory game bird endorsement, correct? I just want to be sure as I'm planning on hunting cranes this year.

No, it is a separate endorsement. It is free though.
