Crappy morning in Grayson. Can’t blame poor shooting skills when birds aren’t moving at all

121 & Custer/Alma had a good shoot this morning

Well I killed 15 but found 14, Son and brother got 13 each and nephew got his limit. We got 2 more while cleaning. It was a great hunt with some gracious hosts. Cooked us all a BBQ dinner after the hunt.

Unicorn kinda deal. Told to us to come back anytime we wanted and I asked how do I get in touch with you. He said you don't have to do that just come on anytime. Found out it was okay to bring the dogs so we will next time. Buster would have found that lost bird.

That's the Dove Gods at work. They act in mysterious way, they tricked me today and I could hear them laughing. Looks like a legendary hunt Bobby!!

Same here live outside of Gunter. Most years it sounds like a war was pretty mild this A.M.
I shot 2 times, poor opener. Oh well it's hunting.

Bob is a great host. We were along the south fence line and not a whole lot of birds came our way. We got 12 between the 3 of us. That brisket was really good.

They were few and far between but my pup and I managed a few.

Dang would have loved to have met ya. Ya never know where THF'ers are.

Best opener for me and my compadre in several years. 2 man limit with time to spare.

Only killed 3 dove (missed a few, but weren’t tons of dove) in Medina county. Packing up around sunset and this dude walks out. Always bring a rifle to a dove hunt, lol.

Checked in to my hotel and found this at the foot of my bed. He became my first kill of the season.

I’d find a new hotel, pronto.

Just got a text from one of our guys that killed a 4 footer on the porch at camp. They’re somewhat expected out there - NOT in a hotel. Ever. Y’all be careful out there.

I got into a mess of collared doves (Eurasians)…!

There are two morning dove in there, but you can’t see them for all the collared dove…

Funny thing…this spot used to be 100% morning dove…but now it’s 98% collared and the morning dove are few and far between.

It’s only taken a few years and the collared dove have taken over…!

Hey at least there is no season or limit on the collard dove, and they are bigger!!!

Can't hunt because of surgery but can eat one or two those burrito's if I had an Allsup's closer. No sauce please.

Yes she’s a bit spoiled on her furniture probation . When fetching inside it’s possible for her to deliver return throw’s at a height I can reach. The field and Lakeshore Next door can be a challenge sometimes.
