Had a last minute cancelation/plus the wind was blowing too hard for the boat run that I was planning to make this morning. That resulted in me not hunting opening day of teal for the first time in I don't know how long. Yall better believe that Ill be at it in the morning though! Anyways make me jealous, lets see your post hunt pics!

Good morning!!! only saw about 3 good flocks the ones that broke off I shot. had two mojos and 10 dekes and 6 coot dekes came right in my first triple on teal ever.

Only saw 1 this morning, 1 shot, 1st time ever waterfowl hunting!

On a side note, I keep seeing everyone say they're going to wait til tomorrow morning to go out, is afternoon/evening waterfowl hunting useless or a bad idea? I'd planned on going out this evening.

We actually lost a lot of birds due to the norther, but it still turned out ok.

I had one member from my group just disappear at the club this morning. Absolutely nowhere to be found. Last they said was he was up for a while drinkin last night. Come to find out he passed out on a couch and never even made it to his room lol. He missed the hunt which only gave me 3 guys.

Group 1 - 4 guys/limit
Group 2 - 4 guys/limit
Group 3 - 4 guys/20 birds
Group 4 - 4 guys/14 birds
Group 5 - 4 guys/still hunting when I left

We did alright. My first hunt where the decoys cost more than the boat.

Saw a couple groups but never pulled the trigger. Good to get out tho...

2 short of our 3 man limit. Stopped shooting at 730 here.

We saw a couple of small groups and cut a few and one dove. Nice to be out and a chill in the air.

Lots of birds where we were at.

Had to be at the ballfield at 7:30 so got in a 20 minute hunt. Got 6 and a couple dove. Great to get out with dad and my youngest. Saw some big flicks headed south.


First hunt with the new 410. Shot good just doesn't hittem near as hard.

My son and I had a fun morning, several groups of 20-40 per group, ended up with 8 between us. Gonna try to finish out the limit this afternoon.



Dog did good for her first time out on ducks. She sure looked at me funny when I started blowing the teal call, like "what is that".

Only flock that decided to come visit came by when I was in the barn taking care of some Taco Bell from the previous night. GF ended up with one. It fell off in the field and and she didn't know it. Whipple sort of juked and she told her no bird. The dog looked at her, looked at the field and took off. GF was like wth until she came back with a bird.

When we were leaving I asked where the bird was and the gf said look behind you. Paxton had it in her mouth ready for the walk out.

That duck stringer looks like a breast collar of a horse. That's some serious leather work

Decided o change up lakes today and paid a fee for the first time... Got four in the boat and had a couple of missed opportunities. Great morning to get out in the DFW area!

Probably had the best Teal hunt so far this year up in Nebraska. Three of us limited. Here is my limit with dog.

5 of us were done in about 20 or so, wouldn't be early teal without the bonus snake...

I skipped today. Sore and tired.

Are those Jode Hillman wood ducks? They are pretty sweet!

Nice catch. Jode Hillman did make the two woodies pictures. I have two more on the way sometime after Christmas.

His decoys in my eyes are top notch! He combines old school with a modern look.

I am completely satisfied with his work beyond expectation. Absolutely incredible. Only wish I could duplicate it myself.
