My old Beretta Silver Mallard for me, Browning A-5 light 20 for my oldest daughter, and my youngest daughter's new Weatherby youth model 20 auto, hope it fits her a little better than the Beretta Urika 20 auto she has been shooting.
Will also take a couple of back up guns just in case.

Opening day of dove season is when the wood stock guns I have come out to play, after that the duck guns get to play.

Remington 11-87 Special Purpose Magnum or Premier...haven't decided yet, but it's a Remington 11-87 either way.

My wife will be shooting an Escort Youth 20ga semi and my father in law a Remington 1100 16ga.

All fine weapons, just like the ones in the posts above!

It comes with two pistons. One for light loads and one for heavy loads. The light load pistons will eject everything. I've put over 1,000 rounds through mine. If you've got the heavy piston in and you're shooting light loads then you've effectively got a single shot.

Yea, we went out to the range today for our last practice shoot. Did the "dove course" and she went 29 for 50. I went 35 for 50. I know the real birds will be tougher but there is some hope for us. Either way, just getting to this point has already been a great bonding experience.

Re: Whatcha totin' Monday? - 08/31/14 02:05 AM

It's kind of cool to me to see what everyone picks as their favorites. Doesn't always have to be the prettiest or most expensive. I find as I get a little older my preference for "race guns" with synthetic stocks and inertia actions are giving way to wood furniture and 2 barrels.

good luck to all and be safe, enjoy the time afield with family and friends

I agree on loving o/u. Ive got a few basic o/u and have always wanted a high end browning/fn. I was hunting in holland last year with a friend that lives there. One of the older gentlemen was hunting with that gun. At the end of the trip he asked me if I wanted it. He sold it to me for what he payed in 1962. His kids didn't hunt and he wanted someone to appreciate it. It took almost a year to get it imported but it's worth it. The gun is truly a work of art.

It's choked mod over full and I can't wait to shoot some high flyer white wings on Monday.
