Rob ... well done as usual. Always wanted to ask ... have you ever hunted with your own dawg?

In my case, more than 90% of the pleasure I still get from waterfowling is the joy of seeing my own dawgs do their thing. I would have hung it up 20 years ago if it wasn't for my 4-legged best buds.

If I couldn't have gun dawgs I'd probably hunt just a few times a year at most and use an 87 year old retriever like I did this morning ...

Right now the spot Im hunting and Launching are both shallow. So im using the Mudmotor. If the lake comes up this fall I will use the outboard.

Yes, I have a set of oars. You can make quick work of the decoys with the oars. Never have to get out of the boat.

No dog. My work is between my house and where I hunt. Just could not bring myself to leave the dog at work all day after my hunt. Going back home is not an option.

By the way I just picked up the hint you gave by the thread title about using the flash. Made me laugh...again in a jealous way. Meaning you limited out so quick it was still dark so you had to use a flash...nice. This is when it's good to hunt in a bigger group so it's not over so quickly. Might actually take 3, 4, or more flights to finish it out vs two.

Good Job! I bought my second Duck stamp ever this year. I've only hunted ducks once and that was 4 years ago. I'm going to try it again this year. My first hunt ended in 2 shots. Beginners luck they called it.

Yep quick Hunt. My Secretary gets to work at 8am. During duck season She holds the fort down till I show up never later than 10am. This morning I was there before she was by 20 Minutes.

You have a good job or a good boss if you can pull that one off. I think when I retire from guiding I am going to have to find a job like that
