I googled it and to be honest, I don't know that what he did was all that bad. I mean don't get me wrong, laws need to be followed, but sometimes I think they're too restricted.

I believe I said that all laws should be followed. I will/would/do follow all game laws. I just think sometimes they're unnecessary.

If I sound like I am 12 years, I apologize. I'll try to simplify so I'm not talking over your head.

From what I know, the Indians pushed the buffalo off their natural grazing range, which caused them to die out slowly. The lack of limit laws didn't have anything to do with it, so your example didn't make any sense. That's all I was trying to say.

Someone was asleep in American History. And, not trying to talk over you, but limit laws would have had everything to do with buffalos! The AI MAY have pushed them off the range.. that might be in the Golden Books, but the white man slaughtering them by the 100's and simply removing the buffalos hide---- not meat, only hides--- led to the demise of the American Buffalo, as well as the American Indian

Actually, barbed wire fences caused more damage to buffalo populations killing migration patterns. Some American Indian tribes were known to over hunt and strip lands bare of all resources then move on to the next spot.

I actually googled this one and found several sources saying the same thing. Bison were here but buffalo weren't which consisted of the cape buffalo and asian water buffalo who are/were mainly in north africa, asia and southern Europe. Only bison were killed to extinction in the states though. This is the case if we are being technical on the names I guess.

Thank you. Your source also mentions the hunting practices of the Indians, ie: stampede them off of a cliff. That's how they became extinct, not because some hunter shot one too many.

the white hide hunters were the ones responsable for the needless sluaghtering of american bison. they killed them for there hides and tounges. the natives killed them for a source of food. they would also use almost every piece of the buf for one thing or another... reall if your gonna nit pic over something that happened centurys ago at least know what you are arguing about... other wise its pointless..... Thats all i got to say about that>...........its the same way with ducks and geese, look at how we would killem before there were laws in efect... if the wernt put into effect, we would not have the privaledge of hunting them today. just think about it.....do some researech.......
