Kicking myself

Planned on taking an afternoon hunt today. Im still sitting on the couch watching football. Boat is in the driveway with decoys loaded. So I'm going to have to take it to storage and unload anyway with only one hunt this weekend.

I had hunting buddies either out of town or with other obligations and I just could not get motivated to go it alone today. Going alone is not that bad, but definitely not as fun as your normal group. My buddies have dogs, and i dont, but i have a new pup hitting the ground next month. I think that is the part that makes the decision.

I don't mind getting my own ducks (it does suck though) but I just don't think it is the same hunting without dogs. They are as much of the group as all of us.

I guess the last excuse is I don't think I can fit another duck breast in my freezer.

Maybe I'll go buy a deep freezer this week. We host a party Saturday, so that should Help clear it out some more.

Just some random thoughts from a duck hunter now laying on the couch, kicking himself, and staring outside at the duckiest weather of the year.

There's always next time, just dint make a habit out of it!

I know what you mean, I kind of did the same thing. I'm down the road from ya, let me know if you want to swap a hunt or need someone to tag along. I can bring the dog
