In all seriousness, Tommy's widgeon was the nicest one I have ever seen harvested. I wish it was going on my wall.

My best was my daughters first ducks. She shot them this September during early teel season

I started duck hunting in 2005. That year the picture on the federal stamp was a hooded merganser. I told my hunting buddy that one of my goals in duck hunting would be to shoot a hoody and get it mounted to commemorate my first season. The three or four years I hunted in Michigan I never saw one. This was my first season hunting in Texas and I shot this one the second time out.

I would have to say my best bird of the year was the magnum Goose taken in Oklahoma while hunting With Delta Waterfowl's Brock Williams during the THF hunt Whiskeyandme put on this year. Taking a triple of bonus Geese. Two of which with one shot was just awesome.

My best bag was over Thanksgiving in Arkansas hunting with my dad (he shot his first greenhead) with two full limits in 25 minutes (all the mallards show up after we limit out):



Best bird was my fully mature Eagle Head Blue Goose I shot in East Bernard:

Best bag of the year got him next to last weekend Mallard/Black duck cross.

The spoonie was my wifes first one.

That is a sweet looking duck . It almost looks like a widgeon head.

Woodies might possibly be my favorite of the waterfowl group...so this hole is always fun to hunt and was probably my favorite for the year. (sorry, cell phone pic)

The top bird I shot mid Dec. He's at taxi can't wait to get him back. The bottom picture is my nephew with his 1st two ducks. I have a new hunting buddy that will go any time.

Well I wasn't exactly at this hunt but a dog I trained was!

Of the 34 ducks I got this year, there were a couple of real memorable moments,

but I guess if I had to call "best"

it would be this banded redhead drake that landed in my repaints the last day I hunted in the season:

I'd say the double banded redhead I shot this year. Followed by the Goldeneye.
Best hunt would be a three limit hunt with my gf.

This was a good hunt with some good buddies

But this hunt topped it off, Me and my buddies 2 man limit of ducks, 7 mallards 4 sprig and 1 greenwing, plus a sandhill and two roosters, afternoon hunt my 2 year old lab retrieved them all,my buddy is shown in the pic with my chocolate male Gauge

Wow, that's a pretty good duck snob pic About as close as you can physically come to all mallard drakes. Let me ask you a question, did you pick out that bill color in flight?

There were 2 of them in a pretty big group of mallards. They stood out from the pack quite a bit. I was lucky to get a drake!
