Might As Well Show a Typical Morning - 07/16/10 03:21 PM
In another topic I'd commented about using live pigeons for dawg training and how I hobble the birds wings. Had enough PMs asking for the method that I had Carol take a pic of me hobbling a pigeon for the pups in this mornings session.
I take the three dawgs out every morning around 6:30 a.m., the coolest time of the day here. 4 out of 5 mornings grandson Jay sleeps in so I have the dawgs to myself. Today was an exception, Jay and Carol decided to get up in time to go with me. The first two images show how I restrict a pigeons full flight with a rubber band. If we do 4 or less retrieves per bird they will usually survive a session.
