Killed 7 sows,1 boar. Used the zigzag aproach using wind in favor. All were next to swamps feedin on grasses with tons of fresh piglets. Never drew down on a runt. Looked like varmit bait on the run. 113

2 small piglets by accident while checking fence this morning - just walked up on a small group of them at a little mudhole in the creek bed.
I say by accident because it was windy, I was making lots of noise tromping thru the tall weeds, just happened to have my 9mm AR on my shoulder when I heard them grunting and squealing and they never knew I was there until first shot.

As I came back by after dumping at "The Zone of Death", a large doe was calmly feeding at the feeder. She looked relaxed and appreciative.

April 11: One hog at 250 yards with .243, 95 grain Hornady SST in Ruger American Compact



May 8: One young boar at 300 yards with 220 Swift, 55 grain VMAX Varmint Express in a Winchester Model 70.



This is how I am making long shots with the 220 Swift: a picnic table shooting bench
with a homemade foam block for a front support in my backyard.



June 23: 260 yards, 220 Swift. Sow had five shoats.
They were bunched up hiding nearby when I drove up on her.
It turned out that I killed two with one shot but did not know for sure
until the second one was found the next day with the help of buzzards.





July 31: 80 yards, M1 Garand with Burris Scout Scope
shooting Hornady Superperformance 30-06, 150 grain SST.
Ran into woods. Found two days later with help of buzzards.



August 1: Shoats in the lane coming off the property at night with headlights on.
Fired once with 243. Killed two. No picture.

There were also a few pigs that were shoot and release. (In other words I could not find them.)

So, that's 8 confirmed. The total should be... 695

This pig was killed two years ago, not to be included in this count which stands at 695,
but is a fair picture of my DCM M1 Garand with Burris Scout Scope,
varmint light and cheek rest. It also has a Holbrook device and adjustable gas plug.
I've killed a couple of pigs and coyotes with it.
