I did this out of a surburban with a gun turit out the top. It was not as easy as it looks.
It's very awkward going that fast at night in a unfamiliar place. It is a lot of fun and probably as close as I'll get to helicopter hunting.
I'll say the land owner HAS to be in on it also. Your going to tear up some wheat!! Don't go do this on your hunting lease!!

This is a friend and customer of ours in Wichita Falls and he does it out of a Polaris Ranger.

My buddy and I do something similar, especially if we get busted in a field. You can really wipe out a big group of babies just by driving over them.

You have to have some serious skid plates under that ride. Fun to watch, but would be a lot more fun live. Good job man.

What is the best load for this? #4 Buck works for me but I don't do that much shooting in a decade!

I know the landowner and he has done this right. Polaris Ranger with 3 50" LED light bars, Saiga shotguns with 25 round mags, buys buckshot by the case. He has a field that's a mile long. Lots of fun but still probably hardly making a dent in the population.

That looks like an awesome time. At that range it looks like high brass 6's would do the trick.

Re: Insane Hog Eradication Part 2 - Texas Style - 08/01/17 01:58 AM
I wonder how many of them that are run over are actually killed. I'll tell you this, we ran through a group of pigs on a gravel road one time in a 6000 LB. Chevy Z-71. We hit 3 pigs, and did not kill ANY of them! The only one that did not get away had a broken spine and we had to run him over 3 times in order to actually kill him. Tough little suckers.
I'll bet many of them that got run over get up and run off. I say this because a side-by-side weighs much less than a full size Z-71, and also they are on dirt so that may help the pigs survive. I think he should affix some type of razor bar to the bumper so that as he runs into them, and over them, it cuts them up as well. They should mount a camera on the rear of that SXS just to see how many are getting up and running off. I'll bet you it is a LOT of them. Unfortunately.
