I like that. It would work well with my Vortex Impact 4000.
Will have to see how good glass is though.

I bet it's ATACR glass.

Wonder who's making that for them this time? Meopta makes the current model.

You're always a thumbs up on Meopta, if memory serves.

IMO, Meopta makes superb stuff. I'm geniunely curious if they're making this one too. I always told people that evidently Zeiss and Leica thought very highly of Meopta too since Meopta was the OEM for both of them, making their big spotters for a while for them.

Good question.

Depending on glass could be a great ATC/STC competitor. Plus for the guys that want/need a reticle, it's unmatched by anything I've seen on the market. They definitely found a hole they jumped in and will fill. Impressive offering by NF...we know it'll be tough, what will the glass quality be (as some of y'all have already stated)?

Dumb, why not get a real spotter with less eye fatigue and more FOV

I’m sure the daytime target folks will be all over it, but besides what you said already, that objective size doesn’t look like anything I would want.

What eye fatigue?

How much more field of view do you need?

It goes down to only 6X

Alot, Looking through that eye piece for hours has migraine written all over it. Brings nothing to market out side of weight when compared to vortex, swaro and kowa. After Owning 50 mm spotter, Id rather carry weight of 65

6x is worth less in a spotter, My hand help range finder has more power…

It reminds me of a pirates telescope. Arrrrrrr Mattttttie Landdd hooooo

Im sure it will work as advertised but I wouldnt want to try to find and spot hits with. just my thoughts

What's wrong with the eye piece? I've spent all day, many days behind NF ATACR, no eye fatigue, no headache.

Turn it up above 6X if you want.

I spot to 800 yards weekly, and rarely turn the 20-60X Swaro above 30X.

arrrr Mattieeee, Goodd luck

just my opinion but glassing for extended period is not enjoyable with any 50mm spotter.

What about 10X42 binos?

two eyes, One eyes hurts, Had to do that when a rolled 11x45 down a mountain. Remember the vortex recon? and doubler…

Have they released the eye relief? I wonder how tight that eye box is.

It could be that cat’s meowwww, But … probably not, but I have been wrong.

They lost me at 50mm. Maybe down the road it will have a proper sized objective. It does seem versatile other than that though.

What would be a proper sized objective?

From ever spotters Ive used going from 50 to 115mm, 65mm is the cross over with good glass , Not sure if it has to do with eye piece, exit pupil, Eye relief, FOV, sight box or what, but its not pleasant glass extended period. I thought maybe it was just razor glass, but the STC by swaro is same way

80 mm Razor and 80 mm Swarovski STR are the two I've spent lots of time behind.

This new NF had to be a military project. Maybe they will listen to outdoorsman and make a 65mm one day. Still keep the size and weight down, but maybe you'll be happier with it. wink

99.9% of shooters/hunters don't know the useful difference between a 50mm spotter and a larger one. They will sell a bunch of them, but not to me.

its swaro glass so is good but you will enjoy the 65 alot more. especially when you want to zoom in on something. FOV is tiny as you hit max zoom. Bottom of Zoom range its great. mid up, gets realllllll tight

I beg to differ, the reticle is going to be a pretty big deal for certain people. The mag range is perfectly useable for those certain people too.

It's for a very specialized market. Can't imagine why regular Joe hunters, which make up probably 95% of the market, would find one useful. Gotta agree with Bobo as well, at least for my ageing eyeballs (63), I like 65mm+ for spotters. I believe Athlon has also brought a Mil reticle spotter to the market for those interested. Tract has a superb spotter with one as well, but it's not 50mm.

They did and I was told by a vendor that it's garbage. In particular the fitment and quality of the replacement eyepiece. Not the reticle itself. That was a year or more ago. Maybe they've sorted out the issues since the first release. Maybe you're not even talking about just the replacement eyepiece that I am.
