ATN X Sight - 11/21/15 04:41 PM

Has the ATN XSight become a viable option yet? I am looking for a day night optic for my 300blk out and this would be perfect. So what I am asking is it working to the point of actually being usable. I don't want to have to stand on my head and pat my tummy while shooting to make it work. smile

they got me back after a really bad experience with sachal/atn, sent me a 3-12 and it works like a scope should.
told them I could care less about all the bells and whistles, I want a scope that is a scope not a speedometer/gps/valet parking/fishfinder full of goo gaas pos.

I plan on ordering another 5-18 for a rra lar 47 x1 rifle I am buying, dedicated pig gun in 7.62x39.

I have the 3x12 also, been pretty happy with this one. Still needs some tweets but it is user friendly now.

I've quickly fallen for mine in 5-18. It's below average as a standard day scope but if you want digital recording or the night capability it is worth the sacrifice. I find it acceptable as a day optic but certainly not what I'd pick if I never planned to use it at night. As a night optic, it's everything I had hoped for and more at a price I could handle. Yes it's strictly reliant on an IR source, and probably a better one than what comes with it. With a cheapo T20 IR light I can clearly see to the end of my shooting range at 200 yards. I'm sure it has a bit more room to go as things are still bright and clear at that distance. There are minor issues, without a doubt but it gets me shooting effectively at night for so much less than a quality I2 riflescope. Plus the recording/photos are cool.

Get a Butlercreek #48 lense cap and drill a 1/2 in. hole in the center. The daytime view is MUCH MUCH better. Clearity is improved and stays focused from around 40yrds to around 120 yrds, no refoucusing needed. Flip the cap up for NV. I read about this on the facebook x-sight group and thought for the price I'd try it. Glad I did.

You'd probably be surprised but I expect a 1/16" hole would be sufficient.
