Only 50,000 of an estimated 400,000 guns were actually registered in CT before the deadline.
http://bearingarms.com/botched-registrat...utm_campaign=nlUnless one had the forethougth decades ago, most hunters and gun owners have a gun registered in their name even if they no longer own that gun. So the logical sequence would be to get a list of registered guns (background check info is kept on record for at least 20 yrs), get a warrent (may be skipped given the NSA warrentless searches), and go door knocking. What would I be able to do if they knock on my door and ask to see the guns on their list - especially if my illegal gun is stored next to my bolt gun in the safe? BTW I'm not in the habit of answering the door with handgun drawn. I think it prudent for CT residents to ensure these guns 'go away' for a while until the heat is off.
