I'll take option 3 Bob. Remove weapon from state. Just let me pack all my crap, and sell my house, and I'm on the first bus out of this shat hole.

Re: Its Starting! - 02/27/14 03:35 PM

Just curious, but the date on that letter is Jan 2, 2014. Wonder what the real postmark was? Who is the official doing the receiving? Was he off on Dec 31/Jan 1 for New Years? Hmmmmm.........

I can't mail something from my own post office to an address in the same town and have it get there in 1 day.....

That's why I won't even visit some of those states!

They don't want your gun, they just don't want YOU to own YOUR gun!

Re: Its Starting! - 03/01/14 01:24 AM

That's okay, option 3 is the best.

The only people that will get those letters are those that made a mistake and sent in there application too late. Otherwise they have no idea who has what.

So as Simple Sercher had to say registration leads to confiscation. But do not worry the sheep will line up for the shears.

You get the government you deserve, vote for gun grabbers and you shouldn't be surprised when it happens.

Option 5. Seal in pvc, bury in back yard, open after the Article 5 convention.

Yup.

Voters in Ct. have been doing that for generations.

Only 50,000 of an estimated 400,000 guns were actually registered in CT before the deadline. http://bearingarms.com/botched-registrat...utm_campaign=nl

Unless one had the forethougth decades ago, most hunters and gun owners have a gun registered in their name even if they no longer own that gun. So the logical sequence would be to get a list of registered guns (background check info is kept on record for at least 20 yrs), get a warrent (may be skipped given the NSA warrentless searches), and go door knocking. What would I be able to do if they knock on my door and ask to see the guns on their list - especially if my illegal gun is stored next to my bolt gun in the safe? BTW I'm not in the habit of answering the door with handgun drawn. I think it prudent for CT residents to ensure these guns 'go away' for a while until the heat is off.

It appears some of the states LEO's may not be registered. Before you celebrate victory I would consider the source and the fact it has not been verified by the "reporter".

http://www.callthecops.net/connecticut-halts-plans-round-firearms-finding-cops-state-list/

Quote:
Connecticut has been making news due to their hastily passed gun registration laws. According to some sources as few as 15% of gun owners have actually registered their firearms. News Blogs have been warning state officials are talking about mass confiscations of the unregistered firearms.

Ar-15
An AR-15 and high capacity magazine.
Plans for these confiscations hit a snag when a legislative intern dared to ask a question. “Who will be going door to door to take all the guns away?” asked the 21-year-old college senior.

Reportedly multiple people in the room in the most sarcastic voices they could muster said “the police”.

The unnamed intern then pointed at the list and said, “my dad’s name is on the list, and he is the police chief. I see three other names on this list of family members, all cops.”

With in hours a print off of all sworn Law Enforcement officers in the state was obtained. Comparisons of the list of gun owners who failed to comply with registration requirements and sworn LEOs showed a startling figure. Just over 68% of Connecticut cops had failed to register firearms according to the new law.

An anonymous source in the Governors office said lawmakers were dumbfounded. “Someone suggest firing all the cops who failed to register. But the reality of hiring and training that many new police officers is not practical.” The source goes on to say “Senator [redacted to protect our source] said maybe we should issue an official order to all cops to comply with registration or face termination. I mean seriously these people are a special kind of stupid to think that gun-loving cops are going to go along with this blatant violation of the 2nd Amendment.”

So now Connecticut is in little quagmire. The powers that be are making all kinds of threats, but there is no one to follow through on the threats.

No police officers or police administrators were willing to go on record for this story. Emails to members of the Connecticut legislator and Governors office were not returned by the time of publication.

If I'm not mistaken, law enforcement personnel in the state of Connecticut are exempt from the law until they retire from or leave the job permanently. After that they are subject to the law.
