Rustic TV stand with sliding barn doors

Rustic TV stand with sliding barn doors - 03/24/17 03:13 AM

Wanted one for my new house and everything I saw was cheap quality and not the dimensions I wanted to fit all my components including a media computer not to mention they were very pricy. So figured I'd build my own.

It's made out of 2x6's glued and screwed together with pocket screws so no visible screws. Used garage door rollers for the wheels and 3" bar stock for the roller rail and 1" angle for the door guides on the bottom and 1" bar stock for the door straps that attach to the wheels.

It is definitely quality and will not break lol turned out to be around 250 pounds rofl

I have seen this in person and it is very nice. Excellent craftsmanship Kyle. That looks awesome man.

Stain does not match the mantle and such by the way bolt

Lol the stain does match the mantle but the hearth I need to take that out and sand restain it with cheese cloth instead of the pad I used. It makes a huge different the tv stand and mantle you can see the wood grain really well but the bottom hearth is very dark.

Plus I got a lot of white dust on it from the stone and mortar so needs to be redone already bang

Sounds like more work for Kyle. I hate to hear that lol. I agree on the mantle though. Different angle does bring out the grain alot better.

That looks great! Like the door roller look as well up

BTW, own Ryobi stock do we? grin I also have a Ryobi set bought for me as a Christmas gift around 2002, still works great other than a couple new 18v batteries.

rofl yea, when my storage unit got broken into and all my tools got stolen I got to buy new ones with insurance and figured I'd go with ryobi since they have a boat load of tools that all run on same battery. Even use same batter for my lawn mower, weed eater, hedge trimmer, chain saw, and leaf blower. Just ordered 2 more of the high capacity batteries on eBay for 80 shipped. I've been pretty happy with all the tools I've used so far.

Use paste finishing wax and it will seal it real well. Looks great

That looks awesome. And your grandkids will enjoy it too in 2055 or so. I have a feeling that will be around a long time.
