Sand Blasted Sign Help - 08/14/13 10:15 PM

I'm still looking for some help getting a sign created for my non-profit. Does anyone know how to do a sand blasted sign? Or have a connection that can help me get a sign like this created?

(these guy's are crazy expensive)

Any ideas from the collective brain trust? Or any ideas for an good looking, weather proof sign in the 8ft by 3.5ft range?

Find somebody that is good with a router and have them freelance it would be my guess.

The ones on the website look like they are cut from wood and then cast on resin. That is a lot of work to actually make 2 signs to get the final product.

There are some CNC router forums that you might find someone to cut the sign out of wood for less, but the sign will not be as permanent as the cast resin. I am sure there are some people in the DFW area that have the CNC routers to do the work, just a case of finding one.

Hardiboard sheets at under a dollar a square foot would be a start. It comes in a wood distressed look. I have it on the ceilings of my porches.
Its heavy tho...
