Trying to choose between sub-compact and compact Glocks - 02/01/08 08:31 PM

Im about the purchase a Glock and would like some opinions. First off, the only pistols I have shot have been a full sized S&W 9mm and I shot a full sized .45 while in the Army. I have fairly large hands. I had pretty much decided on the Glock 27 sub-compact .40 but now Im not so sure.

I do not have the opportunity to go out and test fire and look at these guns as Im disabled and currently not walking very good so my shopping must be done on the internet. So, Im basically going by the measurements they give and trying to guesstimate which would fit me better.

Wanting it mainly for concealed carry and for the nightstand at night.

I had been looking at the sub-compact models as obviuosly they are the smallest, but now Im wondering if a regular compact would be better for larger hands?

I've kind of narrowed it down to these four. I know for the sub-compacts that you can get a mag extension which makes the grip a little longer and easier to hold. Which of these would you reccomend and why or would a different Glock model be better for what Im looking for? I may buy another brand of handgun later but right now I am set on buying a Glock.

Glock 23 compact .40

Glock 27 sub-compact .40

Glock 36 sub-compact .45 (slim line with 6 round single stack mag)

Glock 39 sub-compact .45 GAP
