Season Opener

Season Opener - 11/03/23 11:04 PM

Tomorrow morning the sunrise will find me tucked into a back canyon at Lake Meredith trying to take a whitetail off public land. My plan is to be on a good vantage point long before daylight and wait until the late comers push deer to me. I hope all of you success if you are hunting tomorrow.

Cheers

No luck this morning, not one deer spotted by 4 hunters on all three of my places, we did see a nice buck while driving out this morning.

2 mulie does and 2 nice coveys of quail was all I saw. Mulie does are off limits on public land out this way. I really wasn't too surprised since I have never done well at Meredith early in the season. I normally start getting action after Thanksgiving. But I have to try on opening day.

Got it the blind at 2:45 sat down and was quiet for a little while and did a rattling sequence. Feeder is at 130 and I have a good field of view for almost 300 yards all the way around. Beautiful place with lots of deer in the area. Hoping to see a few tonight! [Linked Image]
