After practicing with the xbow for the last few months, shooting at least 4 arrows every day I felt confident enough to let my son man it in the woods. Opening morning was eventful with numerous deer but none presented a shot I was comfortable with. It's hard to pick out a single doe when there are 10-15 chasing each other in circles.
Saturday afternoon was more of the same until 5:15 when a lone doe broke away from the group at 22 yards. After numerous times of him on and off the scope to compose himself (all by his doing, zero influence from me) he let a bolt fly at 5:19. She ran about 50 yards and piled up. To say I'm happy is an understatement as I'm sure yall with kids know all about. Just had to brag a little being as happy as I am. My season is complete, don't care if I kill a deer the rest of the year.
