Morning all - My son and I are headed to Fredericksberg this coming weekend. Looking forward to some cooler temps I see for the weekend. If anyone hunts that area and has an update on movement, would be curious to know. Thanks in advance.

There is a bunch of deer there... Regardless of movement it will be good!

Yeah, this is a tad early, but it's possible they're rutting. Usually right around Thanksgiving.
Anyhow, there are tons of deer, so it should be a good hunt regardless.

Deer are everywhere, that won't be a problem. But while you are there try the old german bakery.

I hunt just north of there between Enchanted Rock and Llano, and the bucks were chasing this weekend. I think they will be moving even better with the next cold front.

I'm down the road in Comfort
Opening week, Whitetail, small bucks were chasing and grunting, bigger bucks checking and freshening scrapes. This weekend with the cold front should get them all rutting. lots of Axis, turkeys and a beautiful Blackbuck..
I shot a nice Axis buck which hopefully will be ready to pick up from processor, my meat for the year. I'll stay till Tuesday. Taking my daughter, so it will be getting her a shot first on the list,

I have friends from here in mountain home to Harper and fredericksburg and everyone is seeing full on rut right now. I've got wounded bucks everywhere.
Craziest earliest rut we've ever seen. Mild weather too.

You're right! I was looking at the historical average, I think.
Accuweather has lows in the 30s.
