First Buck: Red River County - 12/05/13 07:47 PM

I shot this buck on Saturday morning. He came out ready to fight after a grunt call. I stopped him with another grunt at 75 yards as he moved across a pasture between cedar stands. Blew out both lungs with a 165gr 30.06. He is my first buck and I scored him at 102 6/8. I'm still pretty pumped about it...

I'm about 3 miles southeast of detroit across the road from the jam Kay ranch. I can hear the lion roar at sunup when I'm sitting in my stand.

I won't speak for QSYB, but I don't think many hunters would begrudge anyone their first buck as long as it's legal. Congratulations!
