Live from Baylor Co. - 10/21/13 09:10 PM

Been here about an hour and have seen about 40 hogs within 30 yards of me. Waiting on a deer. Windy as all get out but temp is awesome. Pics to follow.

You're not gonna shoot any hogs?

You'll have to zoom in to see the pigs in this one. Sorry for the quality. I'm using my phone.

I shoot those guys. Didn't have my bow in hand when they came out. I was walking to my spot and had my phone in my hand. If they come back they're going to eat it.

Thanks. Shot two hogs. Both about 150. A friend of mine that's out here shot a hog too that was about 80. Saw several does and several fawns. No bucks yet. Saw a bobcat and a few turkey and quail. Going to try it again on the morning.

Good Luck.

We hunted just South of Megargel in Baylor county this past weekend and saw 5 does and 2 nice bucks Friday evening when the front was blowing in and they were very spooky. Then did not see another deer the whole weekend, the full moon must have had them off.

Well the full moon smoked us again. Saw a couple of does and a couple of fawns on a wheat field but that was it. Maybe next time Mother Nature will cooperate a little more.

With the moon the way it is now, I would keep hunting way past 9:50 am, hell I might not even start hunting till then and then sit all day. Set you feeder and have it throw at noon, at least long enough to make some noise and get their attention.

Tried all day to no avail. Feeders weren't being touched.

I am heading to my lease out there on Friday. Opening weekend was slow (and muddy).

I shot my best buck of the season last year on the Friday before Youth weekend. Showed the younguns how to do it.

I am hoping for a good Friday evening hunt this week too!

Good luck everyone. Hopefully the wild cooperates better for you than it did me. Wish I was going to be in the area. I love a good deer lease beverage. And the Baylor county hunting is outstanding as far as I'm concerned.
