Big Buck Corn not the same quality as Mummes

In an earlier post, I commented how HEB stores in Houston and Crockett have stopped selling Mummes Apple Corn and replaced it with something called Big Buck Corn that comes from the Thomas Feed Company. A friend told me that it was just as clean as Mummes. My friend WAS WRONG. I opened a bag today and found a lot of small pieces of corn cobbs and trash.

I think I'll give the HEB corporate office a call and let them know I'll go back to buying corn at Wal-Mart. I refuse to pay more for trashy corn.

I bought some from Wal-Mart the other day and it was full of trash.

I have tried corn from almost everywhere. Tractor supply has some record rack for about 450 a ton that is nice and clean. About the best corn I have found is at any of the local feed stores. I let them know what people are charging and I can usually get them close to the same price and their corn is always clean.

Did yall ever get mummes back in your H.E.B.'s in Houston? I was at mummes today bringing a trailer full of corn back to san Antonio. I mentioned this to the guy loading my trailer. He said he had people from Houston calling them complaining about HEB not carrying mummes any more.So they let HEB know about it. Just wondering if its back in the stores in Houston.

Head on over to Boerne, our store has about 15 pallets of Mummes corn. Guess it's a slow mover or were just close enough to the plant.

I have never had any trash from the Remington Brand at Walmart. Always been super clean but the other brand they sale is a little trashy

Worst part about the corn this year is it seems to be sorry, small, local grown corn.

This year even the Mid West corn looks like that.

Got Mumme's at HEB today. about $10 a bag. Looked at each bag as it went into the feeder and it was perfectly clean. No cobs at all.

The stuff I bought at Wal Mart earlier this year was full of all sorts of cob.

I haven't seen any at our HEB in Houston.
