Should I change my feeder location this late in season?

I made the mistake of feeding corn every day for past 3 years at a lease in Spurger. Checked camera 2 months ago and had tons of hogs and sone urinating under feeder. The deer in my pics were staying on other side of the road and not coming to the feeder.

Now it's 2 weeks from gun season, should I try to move the feeder this weekend or am I screwed?

Hogs will find it one way or another.

Is the road on the lease, or is that a boundary of the lease. If on the lease, who cares where the deer are as long as they are there...

If off the lease and you want to draw them to the feeder, the only way to solve your problem is a pen. Whether you build it where your feeder is now or move the feeder and build a pen around it, it should matter not. The deer will come to the feeder, they don't know it is about to be gun season, they think it is about mating season...

The bottom line is you need a pen to keep the hogs out if you want the deer to come to the feeder.

The flip side is you have plenty of hunting material to go after right now

It won't hurt anything to move it.
I've moved many of mine during season and have deer at them the same afternoon.
Feeder pens are the only way to prevent pigs from going to the new location too.

It will not matter at all if you move your feeder, if you have noticed deer movement or patterns in a certain area, set up close to those trails. As far as the hogs, you could put you set up in the middle of the highway and they will be on it. Either build a pen around it or enjoy a lot of bacon this year my friend. Good luck!

Not pointing fingers or poking fun, but it really blows my mind that guys don't put pens around their feeders, especially with the hog population and the price of corn what it is here in Texas. I know the panels can be expensive, but they last forever and pay for themselves in a year if all you are doing is feeding hogs and livestock. It took me one trip and one knocked over, torn up feeder 15 yrs ago to learn my lesson real quick; that is sucks to drive 4 hours to hunt and your stuff is tore up and not working anymore! Oh yeah, answer to this question: It won't hurt one bit to move it, but if you don't put up hog panels, don't waste your time or money!

since 2 months ago, the acorns have started falling like rain out around Spurger and folks are noticing them really starting to move down to the river bottom. I'd leave the feeder alone, the deer know where it is and it will help concentrate the hogs when they do come around while you hand corn somewhere else.

The road is on the lease (Magnolia Hunt Club) and it's one of the last stands near the Nachez river. One good thing about the hogs is it helps keep my 13 year old's attention span going.

Another option, since I bow hunt all season and I am not limited to my feeder, I would say set up a tree stand/lean too or tree climber if you have it across the road where you have seen the deer moving. You could possibly get a shot at some of the deer moving around in that area. As for your son, nothing more exciting for a teenager to have hogs come in! Good luck!
