I picked up a place in Coryell cty this year. Ours is just thick thick Cedars. From the cams so far we have one 10 pt (maybe 120 class)that seems to be the big hoss in our area. 2-3 other smaller bucks that were part of his bachelor group. They are still hitting feeders hard and just broke up Bachelor groups in the past week or so. I need the protein feeders to run out before gun season. These cedar thicket bucks love some protein at 0300 am.

We hunt just north of Evant. Opening weekend at the end of Sept was pretty slow partly due to weather and acorns started dropping. Been seeing lots of good deer on cam up until beginning of season, but hoping the acorns die off soon and we start seeing deer again. Physically, the deer look to be in good shape.

We are off of 182 pretty close to Hurst Springs road. I have been hunting NW TX Cottle and Baylor county for the past 6 years. This is my first year hunting this area. Down sized a little for various reasons and had this little Coryell Cty place fall in my lap. This is closest to I-35 I have ever hunted in my 35 years. My girlfriend and I took over her Fathers old lease. My bank account was not agreeing with West Tx hunting this year and my co hunters busted up and went different directions.

there are definetly better parts of coryell than other. we have always hunted west, like around purmela and the deer and turkey are always plentiful, and the bucks are not bad at all!!

THIS!!! Lot of nice deer and pigs on the cam until the acorns started dropping. Hopefully they will be gone soon and the deer will go back to the feeders for corn. Have a 3.5 8 point that is feeding around 0730 each morning consistently. Saw a 10 point that was a possible 4.5 while headed to fill the feeders. No pics of him yet.
