Hunting Blinds - 05/04/12 09:32 PM

As a new comer to the use of hunting blinds does anyone have advise on brands or specific models that you have had good success with?

Look at several different types. If you are shipping to AZ then go with the lightest and cheapest to ship. I would build my own and build it to my specs to suit me needs.

Not sure if they'd be very common in Arizona but you might check out Craigslist. I've seen some pretty good deals on there. I found a 6' and 2-20' metal bases with boxes that were all well put together and cost less than what it would take to build them today.

I build our own now but Boss blinds in my opinion are tops on my list. We have several of them at the ranch. SOmething I can suggest if you have access to a welder is make you stand out of 1" tubing or angle then taking poly or PVC sheeting and screwing that on with self tap screws to your blind. I have (3) 4x6 blinds with 6-8' towers that I can walk up to and let them down and put back up with one buddy easily.

What duke said. All you need are very basic carpentry skills. I have bought a couple of wood blinds in the past and spent a bunch of time customizing them. You can build a good blind in one weekend. Bring your buds over and have some fun!

I've got a 4x8 from The Blynd this year and a wooden 4x4. I'm considering building another on my own (either 4x8 or 8x8) to complete my trio. I guess I'll find out later this year which I prefer the most.
