Anybody Down for a Rut Hunt Today? (live hunt....sorta)

I've got my stuff ready and headed to the blind in a little bit then going to set up shop at the bottom of an oak tree. Pack-Rack and bag: check. Grunt, wheeze, roar, bleet, buck fart: check. New grim-reapers and what's left of my Rage 2-blades: check. Let me get ready and I'll have a live hunt here in a couple of hours......almost forgot.....patience in all of my pockets: check. Y'all call-in at work and come along.

And it appears there is a front a-blowin' in as we speak. Lows of 35 mañana and a cool 29 on Friday morning. It's gonna be a good day, Tater.

Seen any movement yet?

I got bit of a late start bit scared a decent buck on te way to the blind. It's a buddy's blind who rifle hunts so no pressure here at all. I now know the difference between a blind and a bow-blind......

This is a go-to spot. Hope I get lucky.....

Looks like plenty of corn under that feeder Pictures can be deceiving, but that feeder looks a little far for a bow shot...

Right at 31yds. The wind is swirling something aweful down here.

My buddy isn't very conservative with his corn but it's not piled up....the ground is pretty beat up from the critter action. If there ain't no

Buck this morning was running with 2 does....hope I'm not wrong on tjerut comin' in.

Just caught a glimpse of a 6-point he'll-bent on something to the left......

Been a slow morning so I slipped out and got a snack. Haven't seen anything else besides that little 8. The win is howling and swirling in my little shooting lanes. Eastland county are the stomping grounds.

I grunt-wheezed another little 8 amd scared him off.....might be a little early for that much action....

put out some candles and play Barry White real low...... JK lol

He lives somewhere around here.....or did 2 years ago. Any idea on the specs of him? I've posted before but don't remember any totals on him from our expert panel.....

I may have to eat my candles or chew 'em like snuff because I forgot my Skoal bandits and my Mt. Dew is getting low....

I might have to arm-wrestle the sqirrels for the corn. It's painfully slow here for some odd reason. It might be a long year......

Today is my last day for a few weeks.....my wife takes her RN board and I start my new job on the 14th.

If the rut ain't in, it's close. I just watched a doe barrel into an electric fence because Mr. Wide Glide was in tow. He was in hot persuit. I'm getting a swig and I'll be back on stand.....in the tree this time callin' 'em in.

Back to the hunt.....this te in a ladder stand. The wind has definitely picked up......

.....and has changed to out of the wast now.....trying to push the front on in.

Nice! My neighbors to the west has decided to do a little .22 target practice less than 150yfs away.....and he's a hunter!

This hunt is about over unless the deer in this area are trained to come in to an area where a semi-.22 is being fired.

Oh goodie!!! Just reloading. This idiot doesn't have the first clue. He is a rifle hunter and I guess he thinks that plinking 3 days before the opener is a great idea.I think we're all done here. Tune in next time for a big buck down thread......hopefully.

That blows. The last few weekends I could hear a live band playing at Lake Leon. Nothing like listening to music and deer hunting....not

Headed home but decided to practice a target arrow to a cactus at 30yds....not bad for a 4inch cactus...

The front is hitting now. Just as I climbed down to retrieve my arrow, the cool air started blowing in.

Looks like I've had visitors.....conveniently enough, at 30yds.....same cactus at rub. Oh boy!!!
