Definitely rubbing off velvet, the photo two days later that is posted just above him has him in hardened antlers.

Cool first pic,it reminds me of the animated show Rudolph the red nose reindeer when the young bucks were sparring.It's funny but you never hear much about Randolph the brown nosed reindeer,He was directly behind Rudolph,poor fella' never knew when to hit the brakes.
I love those sparring pictures...
