This guy I think is in the low to mid 140's as I saw him 2 times in the daylight.

This guy I think is around upper 140's but broken in this pic hard to tell from pics but I saw him the daylight that morning and he looked bigger in person.

Comeplete coincidence... just got a text with this... (text came in at 9:44pm)
Harvested THIS EVENING 9/1/2011 in Utah. Hasnt been scored yet, they just finally tracked him down. Hunter is Bubba Saulsbury of Odessa, TX.

They will eat greasewood. We found out when hunting 2 seasons ago after hard freeze the first week of the season. The deer had been on gravel ridges eating forbes and the freeze killed them all. The next week I returned to hunt the last 6 days of the season and no deer on the ridges. Took 2 days of looking and found them on the greasewood flats eating the new growth greasewood next to the ground around the plants in pastures we had no been seeing any deer in. They will eat lots of things that grow out there at various times depending on the year and season. Lots of forbes grow and suprisingly lots of browse also. Not much of either one though so the deer population is much lower due to the amount of it available.

Taken North East of Fort Davis. I score all my whitetail, but never thought to score him...I know he is over 150 though

Great looking buck and he looks like a twin to the buck I killed in Alberta that was a 6x6 with the same kickers on the back forks. He will go over 170 it looks like to me.

Thanks. I am proud of him!!! I have only killed two mule deer and the first was a 140" eight pointer in the panhandle.



Thanks stxranchman. We guessed him just over 170. I am going to have to pull him off the wall and measure him out of curiousity now.

Just got a score on Bubba's Utah buck. 183 2/8.

This one went 154 gross... 24 inch inside spread.



And here's a buck my baby bro shot last year. 28 inch inside spread and 172 gross...



Many bucks north of 150 have come off our ranch, but I'll let my hunters post them if they want to show off.

Hats off, very impressive, some true studs in these pics. Count your blessing, most people can go their entire hunting life and never see racks like these.

Here is mine. Grossed 151 and some change. Looks kind of puny compared to the ones stxranchman killed.

My top four mulies. They gross, in order, 201, 189, 183, and 179.




FWI, only the 3rd one carries a 30" spread; the others are narrower.

This one is still my favorite Mulie I have seen a hunter take. Got to love that mass!

These are all Kansas bucks that went over 200.

I like that first one but I don't like that whole trash thing going on in the other 2. I know alot of people like that but just reminds me of the whole high fence science experiement thing and doesn't get my juices flowing and no I don't have a problem with high fence op's just not for me.

The date is wrong in the next two pics, I had this deer at 20 yards with bow in hand and was getting ready when something spooked him and he didn't come back that day.

Man those are huge! Were are those guys roaming. Are they south or north us? Can they be found in Texas. I've never seen one before.

There are plenty of mule deer in Texas, you just have to get up around the canyons and caprocks in the panhandle.

Can't wait to get back up in Gray county and find the one I missed last season!!!! Dang it!!!!!!!!

I remember when most mulies I saw that came from Texas were just rag horns. If a big one was taken it made the news. These days they compare with the deer farther North.

I missed a new P&Y world record in CO back in '86 ( long story, but after I told the outfitter about what happened, he set up to watch and saw him the next morning and told me what he'd score ) and I took a 125" buck there in '87. I have seen a few in Black Gap and up at Caprock Canyon while driving, just never got to hunt them.

Funny this thread was up and running when I came here to post about wanting to go next year. All there brutes just makes me drool. I have to put together a trip now!!!
