Yes, by all means. Shoot him if you get the chance.
Don't overthink.

That last picture wasn't there when I responded. If that's the same deer, I'll revise my answer to:
Holy geez, yes!

That is an awesome deer. Can you insert the larger photos? Definate shooter.

larger photo would help with the age but he looks old enough in those pictures if you like him and think he's lod enough when you see him light him up saturday mornin then we can all guess about age

You gotta understand... I've been feeding year-round, and only shooting trash, spikes and does for the last three years. As small as it is I'm trying to get my place as good as I can. My gut says shoot, but I trust the folks here enough to ask first. I know it may seem like a no-brainer...but it dont hurt to ask. Hell, I'm so excited it don't bother me a bit if I'm over-thinking it.

That's a really big deer bro. High 130's(maybe 140) as an 8 is very hard to find outside of the golden triangle. I am not sure anyone else will pass on him. Once the rut starts and he gets that feeling in his pants he could very well travel outside your 200 acres. Up to you, but I would probably shoot him.

For Medina County LF and 200 acres that is a fantastic buck. I would not pass on him. As hard as that county is hunted he will not make the season. He is a mature buck and great mature buck also. I would shoot him.

I perfectly understand your predicament, chances are the neighbor will shoot him, even though the best thing would be to let this deer walk because he is 4.5yrs old. Just my opinion, if you have never taken a deer this large then hunt this deer, harvest him and be happy with your trophy. Just for future deer harvest make sure anything you take is larger than this one. Once you have a deer this size you will most definitely look to upgrade in the future, keep in mind this is a trophy deer for a lot of people, I am just saying once you accomplish one goal, then we set the next one higher and so on. This is what makes it fun, once you let a borderline buck walk and you harvest him the next year and he is a monster. To me that's the most satisfying feeling in the world, because you had enough patience, time, feed, luck, and effort in this one animal. So to harvest something that we work so hard for is a true blessing that may only come once, if we are lucky.
Good luck this season, Be safe and have fun.

If it was my lease yes. If he makes your heart jump then shoot. He is 5.5 min and about 140".

If you have to ask if he is a shooter, let him walk. If you know he is a shooter when he first walks up, lay him down.

The other consideration that will be different for all of us is what size deer are you used to shooting? If you have always killed deer that are over 160, then you can let this one walk. If the biggest deer you have ever killed was a 125 10 point, then you are probably going to shoot this one. DIfferent strokes for different folks.

That's a good deer for our area on a low fence 200 acre place. Drop the hammer. Been hunting Medina county all of my life. Bad thing is that Medina county soil is notorius for ground shrinkage!!

Take him out. 200 acres is a small place and that is a good deer anywhere in the D'Hanis area
