When hunting with a bow, what distance do you guys feel comfortable with? or at what distance does the arrow not have enough power to achieve an effective kill.
thanks

No offense, but that's like asking "What's the square root of X?"

Depends on the shooter and equipment. I limit myself to shots at or under 30yrds, and prefer 20. The average shooter should limit themselves to 25 or less IMO.
But My brother is a god with a bow and has taken bucks out to 60 yards, so the ability to kill usually exceeds the ability to shoot. Come to think of it.. same principle applies to guns.

30 yards on deer is my limit. Hogs I will go 40. Most of my shots have been at 20 yards and under.

35 yards is max for deer. I will shoot at whatever distance for hogs cuase I don't really care about getting a clean kill on them.
i have been practicing for 50yds, and i am decent, maybe i should rethink and be 95% at 30-40yrds
thanks

I will practice (which has been a rare occassion lately) out to 100, but I'de like to keep things under 40. If everything walked up to exactly 20yds I'de also be a happy camper.
slow drifter, SQ rt of X = SQ rt of X.....
