UTV Owners

UTV Owners - 09/22/14 01:35 AM

seen another today.
that is, a utv on a trailer going down
IH-20 with one lonely LOOSE tie strap,
and not even a good one at that. it was
rolling back and forth maybe 5-6 inches
as they past me going about 85.
just me, but i would think anyone who
would spend $10,000.00 plus on something
to ride around on would spend enough to
buy some quality brand tie-downs instead
of the 4 for $14.99 harbor freight or
walmart crap. when i had dirt bikes, we
used 4 good ancra brand tie-downs per bike.
after 4 wheelers came along, we'd put a
safety chain with a good clevis on it for
a j.i.c. in addition to the tie-downs.
maybe some folks have never thought it
through enough.

just an observation

We chain at front and back AND use at big ratchet strap across the middle.

I use a load binder to secure the front and heavy duty ratchet straps on the rear.

Use 4 heavy duty ratchet straps to secure at 4 points on trailer. Had 4 special steel eyelets welded on front & back of trailer for the anchor point for straps. Ranger will stay with trailer. Just have to remember to put the lynch pin in coupling to keep trailer from uncoupling when traveling over rough roads.
