Dodge TRX4 Package, Just a sticker?

Dodge TRX4 Package, Just a sticker? - 09/07/11 12:34 PM

On Saturday I drove to Greenville and Purchased a 2008 Dodge 1500 Laramie 4WD, with the Hemi. Part of the deal was that they had to put new tires on it. The tires will be here today and they will deliver it to us in Tyler. My wife was excited and wanted to see the truck so I pulled it up online. The truck I bought had TRX4 Off Road Stickers on it, the photos of the same vehicle online did not. They look identicle so they have to be the same truck. The vehicle online was referencing the same VIN number of the one I bought, same Milage, and price. The phots say actual photo of vehcile, so I am pretty sure they added the stickers.

My question is am I being dealt with Fraudulently or is the truck the same as a TRX4 Off Road whether it has the sticker or not.

I believe the trx package is going to be different from the standard 4x4. It should have upgraded shocks, wheels, and possibly geared different, if anything I would think your getting a little more truck for the money.

Correct. I drive an 09 Dodge 1500 TRX4 4x4 Hemi with the Ram Box. The TRX package has the skid plate, different shocks, a different rear end, towing package, skid control, and a few other options. The basic 4x4 does not have all the TRX stuff standard, but can be added as options. So, I would want to find out what you are buying. I hate seeing vehicles with fake logos! Like an old crappy 4 banger mustang with the 5.0 engine decal, or a v6 Camaro with a Z28 decal. Drives me nuts!

Have them fax you a copy of the window sticker. Also, check it for the visible stuff before you take delivery.

A lot of the dealers have photos in their computers that they use to show a "likeness" of a particular vehicle. Can imagine the disc space needed to store pics of every single vehicle that they have come across their lot? I'm betting they used a photo that they already had on file.

There is a delete function. They can delete them once they are sold. Some dealers are just not good at keeping up with the computer stuff. I have seen ads still up for vehicles sold several days before.

It wasn't the likeness of the vehicle, it was pictures of the vehicles. And yes it is just stickers the truck has everything but the upgraded shocks in the package. They admitted they added the stickers. I still bought the truck and so far I really like it, put 1000# of corn in it on Saturday and it did not sit down an inch. Now for leveling Kit, tires, flowmasters, K&N air, grill guard. You know the downside of buying a vehicle, all the add ons you want, lol.

I thought the TRX4 was a package like Chev did with their Z71's
Shocks and tires

I figured I was going to buy new shocks anyways. It is sweet for the price the only options it dosen't have are the DVD/NAV and Sunroof. Has everything else, heated seats, leather, U-Connect, 20" wheels, loaded. The guy cut me a good deal on it when he couldn't put me in the diesel I wanted. Financing rules get wierd on anything over 70k miles on it. Diesels are just barely getting broke in good at that milage.
