How old?

We have seen this deer on cam for 3 years and I have an idea, but wondered what y'all thought? Thank you stxranchman for the help with the photos.

I had a similar Buck, as far as body condition goes, a few years ago. I couldn’t figure his age.
When he was taken he was 6.
His teeth were worn way down and loose, he probably wouldn’t have made it another year.

I think it interesting that his bucks body condition is down, but his antlers are still going strong.
This dude was a monster a couple years ago.

All I can say is mature.

He sure improved a lot to be that old. Looks like everything he was eating went to his antlers and not to the condition of his body. Definitely a shooter horn-wise and age-wise. Probably looking at a big drop off next year in both categories.

That old man has been eating protein for the last 3 years and I'm sure that has helped his antler growth and kept him from declining. 6 and 7 are usually the magical years for our best bucks with good genetics.

I had him at 5 from the first two photos, however after seeing his 2016 selfies, I think you are right. He is a 6-7 yr. old Stud Buck! Good luck!
