this deer has been a long time coming. He is a good shot, but getting him to settle down and not jerk the gun when he pulls the trigger has been maddening at times. Boxes of bullets at the range, coaching, missed deer, tears, etc. FINALLY he settled down and made the shot. Dropped him in his tracks with a perfect shot. Confidence is restored and he's ready to fill another tag before season ends.
I've been watching this particular deer all season. I've watched it during 4 or 5 sits. Not really what I'm looking for, but I'm sure happy for him to take it as his first deer.
Here it is checking out a doe right after I shot her at the end of the first week of season. I thought he was going to lay down and try to mount her
he then came within 20 yards of me.
