Different Raspy Knife

Used a different type of rasp on this one. Turned out okay I guess. Looks sort of like gills on a shark and the spine looks like a swordfish bill. Sort of a salty skinner I guess.

Very cool and very nice work. Do you heat treat after making the blade or do you keep things cool enough to maintain the original hardness then temper it down?

I keep the blade portion cool enough throughout the process and then temper them down to 59-61. I have to anneal the tang enough to be able to drill through them though. They are sure tough on belts.

My guess would be for some pretty rapid wood removal but I've been wrong before.
