Another great weekend hunting with my kids.....

Great weekend hunting with the kids. My daughter got her first deer, finally! We've hunted quite a bit but have seen mostly does that normally get to walk, after me telling her no over and again I finally gave her the thumbs up to put the hammer down on a nice doe. She made a great shot & got it done. My old friend took a nice 8 pointer the same morning, and we also had 4 pigs in the traps. I was about to squeeze on another nice sow but was pretty tired after two deer and four pigs, so I passed. I saw the biggest buck I've ever seen on this ranch, and if I would have only had two more seconds there would have been another picture here. %@%$&@$&%^$#. He was the BOSS that I've been waiting for, but they don't get big in this country by being stupid and hanging around. Yes, we are about to have a sausage making party. Good times, good people, and good memories. I am grateful.

Happy happy happy. She was sad because she thought she missed, but after another tracking lesson.....there you go.....good stuff. Double lunged and good training material.


Girl ain't scared to get dirty and take care of the meat we've harvested. She said, "Dad, after we clean the deer can I shoot the pigs and clean them too?"

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Yeh that girl has no problem skinning & gutting critters. Her favorite part is twisting the head off. No East that tool stays at home . I do need to buy another one for the ranch though, thanks for reminding me bud.
