Barn Wood Table - 01/22/13 06:08 PM

I needed a project last summer so I made this from oak floor boards out of a falling down barn. Thought it turn out pretty nice. We use it in the ranch house.

Re: Barn Wood Table - 01/22/13 08:15 PM

It was rough sawn about 2" thick when I started. I ran the edges through a table saw and did the rest with a belt sander. I did not want a perfectly flat surface so no planer. Had to take off about 1/2 inch before I got to anything worth using. Cut off the old nails and put them back in the holes for character.

Probably took about 50 hours from start to finish. I now understand why this type of furniture is always priced so high.

Now my wife wants one for the kitchen table....
