Looks like part of a pedernales, also called a "Comanche" point, although they are older than the Comanche Indians we read about. These points are 3-4,000 years old, predating modern American history. Just mu .02C

we find them on our ranch every now and then. Most likely made by the Comanche prior to the Europeans showing up and introducing metal points. Not very good flint and not very good craftsmanshhip. Some very poor people made that one in a haste just to have something to go hunt with. Could be a couple of thousand years old or only about 500 years prior to the Spaniards or right at that time.

That's a Comanche Slick Trick. Probably killed hundreds of deer before it was lost.

I shoot slick tricks, too! I like the connection with the Comanche! Nice.

You might want to touch up the edges on that one before using it.

Most likely a bird point being the size it is. Deer usually were killed with a little larger size.

They are actually dart or spear points. Predated bow and arrow.

Good pic, FA
Here is a pic of a bird point I found while building my barn. From what I have learned it was made by the Caddo/Tejas tribe.

You must have built that barn many years ago with younger eyes to find something that small
That is a great find. Those little ones are special to me.

Really cool find. I found a shark tooth in the surf on Galveston Island one time.
I think it may have been a knife or something used as such. Just a guess on my part because of its thickness.. I love looking for and finding these..
