First Deer! 7 Year Old with Suppressed AR

My son, Lane, shot his first deer this morning with a suppressed AR-15 in 223. He was on cloud nine. Before the shot he was shaking and had buck fever bad. He calmed down and made it happen. He made a perfect shoulder shot on a broadside spike at 98 yards. The 60 grain V-max broke both shoulders and the deer only ran 35 yards. The bullet didn't exit, and gave very good terminal performance. I'm a proud papa!

Sorry for asking but why a "suppressed A-15" vs regular rifle like 243, 270. Also, what does "supressed" mean? Im just asking to learn.

Thanks! I can colapse the M4 type stock to fit him really well. Plus, he shoots it a lot and has gotten really good with it. I would prefer him shoot a 243 or 270 and such, but I don't have a rifgle that fits him- YET!

Suppressed means I had my suppressor (or silencer) attached to the barrel. It makes it very quiet and there is not any muzzle blast to distract him. Plus, it helps reduce the recoil a little bit.
