2011 Target Buck Found Dead

Well, most of you guys on here wouldn't be used to my Deer on my trail camera like the guys on my home forum. During the 2011 season one of my top 5 Bucks on the hitlist were decent sized. My Dad was hauling grain to town and spotted a Deer in our field. I was hoping he would blow up this year. So sad to find him this way... I'm also 100% sure it's him. Not doubt in my brain about that. He has a notch in his left ear. I have bigger Buck than him around but he was #5 on the list.

what happened to it.?

When I got to him he had 4 broken ribs, a broken leg, and his hip was broken. Judging from the wounds and he was 200 yards away from the road. I'm going to say he was hit by a car/truck during either Early Jan, he was around our property ever night for 3 weeks in a hay field after swimming. He disapearred one night and just assumed he wintered somewhere else.

Atleast you found him. Better than just going to waste I guess.

I personally would rather have put a arrow in him. My main top 3 I know for sure they're still out there. Number 4 vanished in Nov, then number 5 vanished in Late Dec. Sure hope I get a chance at #1, I saw him 5 times during Bow season here in Iowa.

Nice buck. I know it is no consolation, but you got to think and dream about taking him and he probably helped cheer up your day when things weren't going right. Sorry he died from unnatural causes other than your gun.

Maybe he ate too much ditch weed which caused him to wander aimlessly out into traffic.

As previously said, it's a great looking buck and your lucky to find him intact. The 2010 #1 is a great deer also. Did you get him with a bow?
