Shop/Mancave has been started!

It's not much of a start but I am excited. I hope for a completion date sometime mid Feb. 30x70 with a 20x12 reloading/gun room. I'm putting in a full bathroom and a mini kitchen. More pics to come.





The carport and storage bldg will go away as soon as the shop is complete.

How much for the carport?

I gave it to my dad.

Awesome, you will loooovvvvvveeeeeee it when it is done. I had one built,24x36, with a 10x15 front porch on the side, its a lot smaller than yours, but it is great. Had pipes put in concrete for bathroom but havent finished it yet. Gonna get wire run and lights in first. My wife can't get me out of mine, lol! Good luck with your project!

Congrats, but forget the bathroom. In put one in my mancave, and I swear every guy that comes over for poker or whatever...pees in the yard...go figure.

Sniff, I want a Man Cave....Sniff Sniff.

I regret not having an external sink in the shop for washing greasy hands....... consider it if the bathroom/kitchen backs up to the inside wall; hate to have to open doors and such with nasty hands; or bring nasty items in to wash them; a 100 dollar shop sink/faucet would have been wise.

X2 I have one in my shop and they are nice but the best thing is I put up an outside shower head for the summers and when you are just nasty from working outside.... Built a nice panel fence around it for privacy but nothing better than getting clean outside and making momma happy not bringing in all the crap from the outside.....

They are about 85% on framing and he had the concrete guys out today to start the flat work. (sidewalks and approach)

There will be a sidewalk from the back patio of the house out to the front patio of the shop and on down the side of the shop to the 22x20 approach.

The railing is coming down on the back patio.


He had to put some steps at the shop due to all the dirt work.

Thanks again for all the coments guys. I have been dreaming of and saving for this building for a few yrs now. As soon as I get home my little girl and me head to the shop, the wife has to ocome get us for bed time, so its pretty much my second home. The reloading room is still a work in progress. I am building a walk in safe/ safe room in the corner. I ordered a door from Sportsman steel safe co and have been waiting on it for 8 weeks. They called Friday and said it would ship out Monday. The whole reloading room revolves around this door going in so I havent done much in there. As soon as the vault door is in i cam put the main door to the room on and fire the centreal Air up in there. I will be able to do all my trim amd cabinet work in the AC instead of the 100 degree heat. I will post up pics of the safe room and reloading room as it comes along.

Bathroom stained floors. Reloaading room will have the same floors.

2'X94"x3" thick concrete panels for safe room. There will be panels allthe wayaround the sides and on the top. It will be fully welded where the C channel frame meets. There will also be 6" ancors into the concrete slab. After it all built and welded I will install the safe door and 2 layers of fire resistant sheetrock.

Been working on a walk in gun safe/ safe room. This is in the corner on what is soon to be the reloading room. I can now start building shelvs and gun racks inside.
Safe door

I assume there is a release on the inside of the safe door, since this is also a Safe Room for Tornado Alley residents.

Don't let the baby get locked inside.....

Yes sir, That was one of the options from the safe company. The inside release is set up so that you cannot be locked in. It's almost 40 sq ft inside. That should be enough for the 3 of us for a 15-20 min storm.

Did some more work in the reloading room this weekend.

Finished up cutting on and welding in the safe room.


Framed around the safe room and door.


Put up ceiling in reloading room.


Hung light and started painting inside safe white.

Got the shelves in tge safe built for the guns and the floor in.








It's kind of hard getting good pics inside. I'm going to sand all the wood and drain it this week and then line where the guns sit and where the barrels rest with felt.

Almost done! Oh, and as of right now it will hold 74 guns with room to grow. It will actually hold 74 bolt guns with 50mm scopes, not 74 single shot 22s

Finally started working on the reloading room. Got the bottom cabinets in and the floor stained. Going to put in upper cabinets, rock around the gun room, and trim it all out in the next couple of weeks.
