Crossbow - 12/25/11 02:30 AM

My 12 year old son with his Christmas present. I was going to be away for Christmas so we did Christman early. He is hitting out to 50 yards with it. Going to hunt with it when I get home.

Thanks, it is more accurate that I was expecting. 50 yards and his bolts are almost touching.

Not necessarily after each shot, but definitely after each shooting session. Congrats.

x2 use the rail lube and wax string occasionally.

Also, get some lumenarrows for him to hunt with. They look really can help to see where the arrow hits.

Re: Crossbow - 12/25/11 02:09 PM

Thanks guys. Yes lumonex (spelling) are on the list. It is a Barnett Jackel, not sure when he will be able to pull it back by himself.

Re: Crossbow - 12/25/11 02:10 PM

I showed him how to lube the strings, and told him he needs to do it every time he shoots it.

Re: Crossbow - 12/25/11 05:39 PM

Jackel is a good entry level crossbow. I have the Excalibur Axiom. Its a very good bow! Can get it brand new on ebay for under $400. Wicked Ridge makes another really nice bow. Check out youtube to see the luminock arrows being used. If you hit my youtube channel under jake480 you can see me miss a black bear twice with them! frown Enjoy, lots of fun!

Yes sir, 12 years old now. Think he was 8 when we went to your place. Wow the time flies.

He still talks about stepping in that cactus and having to throw his shoe away.
