Update on the buck at the top. 1000YrdStare and I share this small lease and have for the last few years. This is the first buck we have seen that exceeds the antler restrictions, and by a good bit as you can see. Well he is no more. His carcass was found on the side of the road that borders our lease, without the head of course and the rest of the body left untouched, totally wasted. Love them poachers.

How do you know it was him without the head confused2

Only buck of his size(body and rack)we have seen in 4 years. And he hasn't been seen on camera since that original pic. You are absolutely right that it may be a different buck, just seems too easy to connect ours vanishing to this carcass showing up.

Re: Jack Co. - 09/22/11 05:02 PM

Might be, but I can assure you there are some other deer around you with horns and bodies that size. Deer like that don't get that big in that area by being seen. We have them disappear all the time at our place and show up at some of the strangest times...usually during extended doe season bang

Don't give up hope on him, but it does suck to lose any of your bigger deer...really sucks to lose any deer to poachers.

Good luck to ya

Hopefully it ain't him. Hate poachers. They need to be hanged whip hanged again and flame

Keep on truckin brother! I got on at Jack county last year and saw nothing all year. Decided to stay since everyone assured me that it was just a bad season for the entire area. BUT i checked my cameras last night for the 1st time and i have 3 really nice bucks coming in already. 2 over 140 and one might make 130. Its a little different from my place in Grayson but im impressed so far this year! They are there just stick with it!

My family owns 4500 acres in Jack County close to Barton Chapel RD. I have been feeding for several years and have some big deer coming in. Cousin of mine shot a 165 class two years ago. If you haven't seen anything bigger than him in four years then you aren't hunting hard enough, their are tons of big deer in Jack CO.
