Well,I certainly understand everyone has a right to their opinion. But when photos are posted and two threads started on a huge elk IMO the readers are entitiled to know the cirumstances of the "kill"-which were not fully disclosed until asked about. If an animal is taken under high-fence then IMO if you post the pics then you should expect that some will not ,shall we say, think so highly of it.Having the fence in the background and posting the discussion about agonizing about whether he wanted to spend the extra $$$ on the "upgrade" from his original 420" package(other thread) doesn't help.
We can all disagree about how we feel about high-fenced kills but I don't believe anyone would compare it to a wild animal taken by fair chase means.
Well, I tried to disclose all I knew about the kill (figured everyone knew that SCI=HF) and circumstances of the kill, and in no way have I tried to compare this to a free-range bull. The fence in the background was a deliberate act from what I hear so as not to confuse people and/or discredit a true free range bull.
Honestly, I knew this would ruffle a few feathers and I openly welcome the criticism. I'm somewhat of a critic when it comes to high fences myself. But seeing Mr. Saulsbury with a real smile on his face for once is truly a sight for sore eyes.
and djones.... that's just classic stuff rite there. I'm terrible at photoshop. Do you think you could do that with the hunter and send it to me im a PM or somethin? I think he would get a kick outa it.
I appreciate everyone's response.
