He's OLD. Won't score a ton, hard to even guess from the pics. But WOW great deer. I see you have him caped. Hope you're putting him on the wall. What a great deer! Congrats.

Re: 20 point Comanche County - 11/18/10 05:32 PM

I guessed him at 6 to 7.. Definitely past his prime. He is a real neat looking buck and I'm glad I got to take him. I'm only 18 and this is my 4th buck.

I hunt north of Comanche. Nce to see big deer are around. Awesome buck!

Re: 20 point Comanche County - 11/18/10 06:40 PM

There was a buck taken right across the fence from us that was 22 in. wide 12 point with a 4 in. drop tine and another taken a mile north of us that was a 135 class 10 point. There's a lot of potential too. I believe the AR law is beginning to show

That's a really cool looking buck. I grew up hunting in Deleon, but haven't deer hunted there in about 20 years. Maybe I need to get back out there.

Re: 20 point Comanche County - 11/18/10 09:21 PM

Judging from his ear-hair, I'm gonna say he is about 40 in deer years.

And concidering how horny he is, I'd also guess he is about 18 in deer years. So my guess is that he is about 3 or 4 years old.

* Sorry...I'm just in a funky mood.

Great kill.

Same here, east of Proctor/377. See plenty of deer at night, buddy shot a 132 two years ago. I'm basically duck hunting and hopefully I'll get lucky and see something close to that

Was your buck in the Deleon Free Press this week? Was just flipping through it and saw the pictures. If that's you, I used to know some of your family many years ago.

Nice deer ! We just lost our deer lease on proctor lake . Had it for 12 years . We shot alot of great deer including 3 Boone and Crockett bucks ... The ar really helped the area . Got big game certificates with the big bucks . Mine was 163 .

I got my mount back! I think he looks awesome. Never got him scored though, don't think it would've been much. He's headed to my Grandpas Real Estate office now for everyone to see.

Sabanna- you are so privileged to have taken such a great deer. He is old and past his prime with great headgear. Congratulations on an excellent animal. There are not many hunters who ever get this opportunity, and this is one I hope one day you will be able to share with your children and their children. May the memories last a lifetime!

Thanks a lot everyone. I was very privileged to take this deer and haven't even seen one yet this year to make me shake lol.
Jdd- A man in Comanche did my mount named Bill. His business is Wild Bill's Taxidermy and I think he has a picture of my deer in his shop.
