Causing trouble at the pistol range!! - 10/08/12 05:31 AM
True story.
Shortly after my divorce I went to my nearby indoor pistol range to practice with my new Glock. I checked in and got 2 black outline targets and waited for some folks to clear as a class was ending. Since I had a little time, as a lark, I took the black marker that was in my gun bag and drew curly hair on the target and several "word balloons" with phrases like "nag, nag, nag" and "I want a divorce" and "my lawyer is going to take all your money".
When I got to my lane, I hung the target, ran it out about 8 yards, and began to plink away. After my second clip, I took a break and dug out a box of ammo to reload my clips and the range officer came up behind me very upset.
He said, "I'm sorry sir but you have to take down that target. It is causing problems. "
I looked at him, and then around and I saw several women on the range. Thinking some of them complained, I said "I'm sorry, I meant no offense to the women shooters"
He replied, "No, it's not that - we had some folk shooting across lanes at your target"
I looked down range and my target had about 40 holes in it, about 5 or 6 in the head. I only shot two 15-round .40 caliber clips, all at center mass. I took the target down folded it up and stuffed it in my bag.
When I got home, there were 43 holes in the paper made by at least 3 different calibers.
